WHAT is Macleem?
Macleem Sports Wear TM was created for those athletes for whom basketball is like oxygen --- players who live and breathe it every day of their lives. These are the players who are the first in the gym and the last to leave, the athletes who leave it all on the court. Macleem is for the players who would rather be known for their on-court game than their off-court talk, and for the fans who respect a player’s game over their fame.
WHO is Macleem?
The founder of Macleem Sports, Haneef is a 28-year-old New York City native with a strong passion for the game of basketball. Leveraging his computer expertise, he began an online sporting news website which kept track of all the local summer tournaments as well as NBA games. His love for the game, his connection to the market and his passion for building this company is invaluable. Haneef is the heart of Macleem as well as the audience for the brand.
SLAM Magazine called him the King of Cali Streetball the kid from California with the sick handle has the game to back it up. Jay has played everywhere -- on the And1 tour, against the best in the country every summer at UCLA, as a Magic Johnson All Star, CBA, NBA summer league, and the NBDL. Because he's shared the court with NBA players (e.g., Paul Pierce, Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Sam Cassell, Derek Fisher, and Jalen Rose), he understands how Streetball players relate to and respect the pros, and he brings that invaluable perspective to Macleem.
Even when Jay is not on the court, he is constantly in motion as one of the best individual training and player development coaches in California, working with both college and professional players. He also runs his own camp and clinics for individuals of all ages. Jay has devoted his life to the game of basketball and to teaching young people how basketball can teach them great life-skills through his Hooptainers team.
